Asked if he would definitely be at Spurs next season he said: "Like I said, you never know, but it's a fantastic club to be a part of". We're all looking to learn together and build together and be as successful as we can.

"[This season] has shown how strong we have got mentally".

The Argentine has led Spurs to second in the Premier League after their 2-1 win over Manchester United in the last game at White Hart Lane, while the Lilywhites have also remained unbeaten at the historic ground in all competitions, winning 17 games and drawing two.

Tottenham's runners-up berth is their best league finish since 1963, but the progress of Pochettino's side has inevitably prompted reports that several key players could be lured away by bigger clubs in the close-season.

However, Kane does not expect an exodus at a club he believes are still on the up.

"We're a family on and off the pitch. Look, there's not many better teams to be at around the world at the moment", he said. We made up the gap towards the end, we were performing very well, and it was a disappointing night against West Ham.

"Of course there's going to be rumours over the summer, but I think I'd be very surprised if most of us ain't still here next season".

It seems clear Alli could envisage himself playing overseas, but it would be a surprise if he departed Spurs this summer given they appear to be edging closer to a Premier League title win.

Such an achievement eluded Pochettino's men last term, due to a late collapse at Newcastle, but Alli is adamant Spurs are mentally strong enough to cope with the demands of competing for honours.

Tottenham finished third in the last campaign and second this season but have failed to win any trophies since winning the League Cup in 2008.

"That's got to be our next step".

"They went through that before with Gareth Bale and it took them three or four years to get over that".

"It's important we don't forget about what happened and how far we've come".

The England star has become hot property in two seasons at White Hart Lane following his £5million move from MK Dons.
