North Korea seeks to extradite anyone who it believes was involved in the attempted murder of Kim Jong-un last month. "When a USA citizen is reported to be detained in North Korea, we work with the Swedish embassy in Pyongyang".

Chinese state-run media have called for harsher sanctions against the North in the event of a fresh atomic test, prompting Pyongyang's official news agency last week to issue a rare and stinging denunciation of its chief ally.

Stay on topic - This helps keep the thread focused on the discussion at hand.

The creation of a CIA mission center dedicated specifically to North Korea also comes just days after Pyongyang threatened to launch an "anti-terrorist" attack against the United States and South Korean intelligence agencies for their alleged plot to kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

"This system imposes unduly harsh sentences for actions that would not be considered crimes in the United States and threatens USA citizen detainees with being treated in accordance with wartime law of the DPRK", it said. Ltd., met Kim in Dandong, on North Korea's border with China, to give him communications equipment and cash.

"Washington will also demand that other countries sever diplomatic relations with North Korea", the Chinese expert added.

China even threatened to cut off fuel exports to North Korea, whose resources greatly rely on exports from China, if Pyongyang carries out its sixth nuclear weapons test. Russia, meanwhile, "hinted it could replace at least some of that supply", clearly signaling its growing role on the Korean Peninsula, according to Stratfor.

It comes as the hermit state announced it will carry out a sixth nuclear test - despite the rest of the world warning against it.

A recently published statement from Moody's mentioned that a conflict with North Korea would be "credit negative" for South Korea. South Korea is heavily dependent on global trade and any war with North Korea will block all trade routes with the country.

Baer suggested that the U.S. should leverage China's influence with North Korea and let it rein its nuclear armed neighbour. "It is the only way to protect the peace of the Korean Peninsula and the region".

North Korea generates 90% of its foreign revenues from exports to China. China had banned North Korea coal imports in February while Pyongyang charged that Beijing with betraying their relationship, noted the South China Morning Post.

But not only that.
