Conte wants to stay 'many years' at Chelsea

The Brazil global reportedly took a pay cut to return to Stamford Bridge last summer in what was a surprise move.

Earlier in the season, when Chelsea beat Manchester United 4-0 in the Premier League in what was Mourinho's first return to Stamford Bridge since being sacked by the Blues in December 2015, the Portuguese tactician was not impressed with Conte's antics.

Speaking to journalists ahead of Saturday's showpiece, the 30-year-old explained that; "Two years ago Chelsea won the title". There was still the occasional mistakes and lapses in concentration but, for the most part, Luiz was one of the Premier League's best defenders, last season. "Every day we are working hard and that's why we deserve this". I was winning everything in Paris.

Luiz said: "I went to Paris for two years and won all the titles in France".

'I would assume that there, on the pitch, the rule is: your death, my life. "Where they always criticised me a lot even after winning the Champions League, the Europa League or where I'd played all the games".

"I love the risk". If you never take risks in your life you never feel something new. Then if they give me the possibility to stay, I'm available to do this.According to The Mirror, the Chelsea board want to keep Conte at Stamford Bridge by handing the coach a new deal worth £9.6m each year until 2021, making Conte the club's highest-earning coach in their history."I think the club always saw my job, during pre-season and in that period, and trusted in my job". At PSG I tried to improve as a person, as a brother, as a son, as a friend.

"I think last season was not a good season for Chelsea and this season we did great since the beginning, not just because of me, I think because of everybody", insisted Luiz.

Fast forward nearly a year, however, and the Brazilian is now seen as less of a liability and more of an integral part of Antonio Conte's Premier League champions. "But it's okay, God has given me a lot so I'm happy with this".
