Hull relegated from Premier League

Success in England's top level of soccer has proven elusive for Hull City when they've earned their way into the Premier League. The Welsh club's players were due to gather at Fernando Llorente's house to watch Hull's match at Selhurst Park, and can now plan for another top-flight campaign under Paul Clement.

Then James Tomkins exposed Hull's weakness in the air when he headed Jason Puncheon's corner narrowly wide. A wretched 18-match stretch following that start saw Hull gain just seven points and included losses to fellow relegated sides Sunderland and Middlesbrough, putting them in a deep hole. On the day, we've got to handle the pressure better than them and deliver a performance. "I think if we win both games we will have a good chance of staying up".

Such a comprehensive defeat was in-keeping with the club's bad away form this season, winning just one game on the road as they slipped further and further into the mire after a positive start to the campaign under Mike Phelan.

Sam Allardyce has urged Crystal Palace not to "waste" the exceptional run of results that took them to the brink of safety in Sunday's crunch match at home to Hull. That the Tigers got so close to surviving was down to Mike Phelan's January successor Marco Silva.

"Marco gave us hope, belief and a chance in the last few months but the damage had already been done during the first half of the season unfortunately".

"[Then at 2-0 down] they had to change it and throw caution to the wind, so we sat in to defend that situation as we didn't need to score again and they did".

"After losing a game, I can't forget, especially this game. It's been tough for them at times, but they've stuck with us all the way and I'm delighted for them more than anyone".

Hull will not be as depleted as Crystal Palace, but they will still have a fair share of absences.

"Now, of course they're in a better position than us, but they need to do something to (make themselves) safe".

- Hull have conceded a league-high 14 goals from corners this season.

Chelsea won a fifth Premier League title and the race for a top-four spot promised to go right to the end. One burning question will be whether they will bring Silva with them as they attempt to secure a return to the Premier League for the fourth time.

With just one away league win all season, the odds were heavily stacked against Hull and Alfred N'Diaye couldn't find a cure for their travel sickness as he blazed well over.

Sam Allardyce's side have failed to score in their last three Premier League games - he's not overseen a club he's been managing fail to find the net in four in a row since December 2009 while at Blackburn.
