The 35-year-old OR man is accused of stabbing to death two good Samaritans who came to the rescue of two young women being harangued on a Portland commuter train.

A woman who was with Taliesin Myrddin Namkai Meche during his final moments after being stabbed on a MAX train said she wants the world to remember him as a attractive man.

"I want future generations to remember what happened here and why it happened and what they were willing to give to do the right thing", Wheeler said.

Witnesses said Christian raged against a 17-year-old Muslim girl in a hijab and her 16-year-old African-American friend, identified by the Oregonian newspaper as Destinee Hudson.

Police said they will examine what appears to be the extremist ideology of Christian, whose social media postings indicate an affinity for Nazis and political violence. The homes immediately surrounding the Christian residence now hold biracial families moving from out-of-state and same-sex couples, Jenkins said.

Two days after a white supremacist in Portland, Oregon, allegedly killed two men and attacked a third who confronted him for shouting an anti-Muslim rant at two teen girls, President Donald Trump tweeted a statement of condemnation from his official POTUS account.

Here's what Twitter users had to say to President Trump.

Declaring, "We choose love", thousands gathered in Portland, Oregon on Saturday night to honor three victims of a savage hate crime on a local train, the pernicious, inexorable dross of the toxic times. "Our prayers are w/ them", Trump's Twitter message reads.

Micah Fletcher, the third OR stabbing victim, was treated for knife wounds to his neck.

Friday was the beginning of Ramadan, the holiest time of the year for Muslims, and the attack prompted soul-searching in Portland, a city that prides itself on its tolerance and liberal views.

"The president contextualizes Muslims as foreigners and as national security threats, and it seems his hostility toward American Muslims is promoting this narrative of hate that led to the stabbings in OR", said Robert McCaw, a top official with the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

"He told us to go back to Saudi Arabia and he told us we shouldn't be here, to get out of his country", Mangum told KPTV on Saturday. "You know, basically say that he denounces these kinds of attackers and these kinds of upticks in domestic terrorist incidents... and unfortunately, we just heard pin-drop silence", said Chaudry.

KK eventually got up and move to the other side of the train, she said.

"Me and my friend were going to get off the MAX, and then we turned around while they were fighting and he just started stabbing people", she said.

That's when the three men intervened. At one point, he threatens to stab the driver of the train.

Macy said she was afraid, and as a woman of color she didn't want to be noticed by Christian.

Christian will make his first court appearance in the case Tuesday, and it wasn't clear if he had an attorney.

Tomica Clark told The Oregonian/OregonLive that she has known Christian since elementary school.

"They fearlessly risked their lives for two young women who were threatened by an act of bigotry and terror". Police confirmed to KOIN that yes, it was Christian, but they didn't elaborate.

Christian was charged with two counts of aggravated murder and one count of attempted murder, all felonies.

"It's haunting me", she said.

They were fearless Americans who died at the hands of someone who, when all the facts are collected, we may have every right to call a terrorist.
