The so-called Serial Shooters randomly targeted pedestrians; Dale Hausner killed himself while in prison, and Samuel Dieteman is serving a life sentence.

Saucedo, 23, is accused of carrying out the separate murders which police previously described as the work of a serial killer. Chief Jeri Williams said Saucedo has been re-booked on 26 additional felony charges related to the Serial Street Shootings. He said he "pointed out some things" that might help police. The judge said Saucedo faces eight counts of first-degree murder and multiple counts of other crimes.

Maricopa County Attorney's Office spokeswoman Amanda Jacinto says she couldn't immediately provide any information. But police say that Saucedo had no personal connection to the people he killed following this incident, and that they appeared to be picked at random, killed while entering their homes or lounging in their yards.

Phoenix police say Saucedo was responsible for 12 separate shootings and nine deaths. Romero, who was dating Saucedo's mother, was killed in August 2015 at a Phoneix apartment complex.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton praised all the officers involved in the case at this afternoon's press conference.

The former city bus driver arrested in a string of 2016 serial killings that terrorized several Phoenix neighborhoods declared "I'm innocent" during a brief court hearing.

A $75,000 reward offered in the case will be given to the tipster or tipsters who led police to Saucedo, Howard said.

Saucedo has been in police custody since last month, when he was arrested and held in connection with the fatal shooting of his mother's boyfriend, 61-year-old Raul Romero.

Aaron Saucedo pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on a single murder charge on Friday.

Police gave few details on how they linked the man to the killings, which stopped last July amid extensive media coverage.

He is later believed to have fired at random on complete strangers in the street, killing eight people.

Police notified all the victims' families Monday before publicly announcing Saucedo's arrest.

Jesse Olivas was shot and killed near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road on January 1, 2016. "We can't bring my brother back", said Hosanna Lopez, who is the victim's sister. Every day I would just pass by and touch it and pray, "Lord get him. The pain is the same". "The pain is the same", Castro said.

"The tips that came in were not so specific that it had to come from someone who knew the whole case - they were general and vague in nature, but they were enough to push us in the right direction", Howard says.

"I had a gut feeling it was him", she told the Republic.

"I was beginning to think I was never going to get that phone call", Lora, 27, told NBC News.

Smith said she had grown frustrated over the past year as detectives kept her in the dark about the investigation. "But they wanted me to find out from them and not the news".

On 17 March, 2016, a 16-year-old boy was shot dead as he walked down the street at 11.30 pm. The suspect struck again the next day but didn't kill anyone.

Manuel Castro Garcia, Horacio De Jesus Pena and Diego Verdugo Sanchez all victims of recent Maryvale drive-by-shootings in Phoenix.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing.

In the most deadly single attack, two women and a 12-year-old girl were shot to death in front of a home before dawn on June 12, 2016, police said.
