Spicer on the Way Out, Sanders In?

Regardless, Trump seems to be considering a sweeping shakeup of his West Wing staff in the wake of the media firestorm that followed his abrupt decision to fire Comey - the man who was overseeing an FBI investigation into the Trump campaign's possible collusion with Russian Federation during the 2016 presidential election.

Spicer isn't handling the daily press briefings from Wednesday to Friday while he is fulfilling his Navy Reserve duty at the Pentagon, which the White House says was previously scheduled. After the White House on Tuesday said there would be nothing more from them on the firing, Spicer, Sanders, and Kellyanne Conway rushed on to cable networks to defend Trump's decision.

President Donald Trump denied allegations of collusion between his campaign and Russian operatives in an interview Saturday night on Fox News, adding, however, that he wants "to get to the bottom" of the questions about Russian influence in the election.

Other House Democrats sent their own letter: "Under normal circumstances, we would not consider credible any claims that the White House may have taped conversations of meetings with the president". The lawn ornaments were so successful and went viral so quickly that DropBox had a hard time processing all the download requests. The Post's report prompted a fair share of jokes at his expense.

"The president should immediately provide any such recordings to Congress or admit, once again, to have made a deliberately misleading - and in this case threatening - statement", Schiff added.

"I$3 t took my breath away", Wallace said of Spicer's response, in which he declined three times to outright deny the president is recording any such exchanges. "The repeated lesson the White House has learned is there is no quiet day or week". Maggie Haberman of the New York Times tweets Sanders "obfuscates same as Spicer" but "without making [it] deeply personal, petty, condescending".

When Karl asked if White House staff was being left "in the dark", a seemingly miffed Sanders tried to flip the script. Trump assured he would never do that, and then embraces his press secretary for a lengthy kiss.
