Windows 10 update aims to help identify best photos, videos

Microsoft has announced another major update is coming to Windows 10 later this year. Here's everything you need to know so far. Terry Myerson, Microsoft's executive vice president of the Windows and devices group, announced the Fall Creators Update for its Windows 10 operating system. So we can expect the Fall Creators Update 2017 to arrive in September. Now, Windows will engage with its competitors and look for ways to make customers' experience with those devices better, the Redmond, Washington-based company said.

A brand new fluent design which was codenamed as Project Neon earlier will be part of this Creators Update. Like Google, Microsoft wants Fluent Design to become a cross-platform design language.

Today's new Windows 10 Build 16193 changes the Task Manager column name from "Background Moderated" to "Power Throttling". There are 5 fundamentals to Fluid design system - light, depth, motion, materials and scale. "You can also create mixed reality by adding 3D objects to your photos and videos to tell stories in a whole new way, or turn your photos and videos into your canvas, drawing on them with Windows Ink". So, don't be surprised if the doc you were editing on your PC before logging off pops up on your phone; the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is smart enough to do that for you. The company says the feature, which will site within the Windows app switcher, is a way to "easily jump back in time to continue where you left off".

For example, the next version of Windows Store, the app market in Windows 10, will include iTunes and SAP Digital Boardroom, Myerson said, VentureBeat reports. New support for.NET Standard 2.0 for UWP, due later this year, provides a bridge between where your code lives and where it needs to go. The files still appear in File Explorer-new status icons show if the files are available online-ready to be downloaded and opened when users click on them. Microsoft also debuted its plans for virtual reality, which it is calling "mixed reality" and launched a new motion controller that works with a variety of VR headsets, including its own HoloLens.

The Fluent Design System for Windows 10 is being introduced.
