Police confirmed they were dealing with a second incident at the Borough Market, which is nearby.

London authorities are investigating reports that a vehicle has hit pedestrians on London Bridge.

"We are all saddened by this senseless tragedy. especially since it happened on home ground, and we want to help the people affected, where possible", she told The Straits Times. I heard what was significant gunfire.

An eyewitness described the incident to a CNN reporter, saying he saw a van swerving on and off the pavement.

"Then we hid under the table and people came into the restaurant and knocked a bunch of stuff over, like the till". Each of the men was carrying a 12-inch-long blade. I saw a young girl stabbed in the chest. British Transport Police said they have received reports of multiple casualties. Witnesses told the BBC that a white van, traveling around 50 miles per hour, mounted the sidewalk and struck as many as six people.

A witness said they were in the front of Elliot's Cafe when a large group of people started running up the street from Borough Market.
