Protesters storm Kensington Town Hall after the fatal fire.

Investigators believe the fire started at around 1 a.m. local time Wednesday on the fourth floor of the 24-story Grenfell Tower in North Kensington, an area of West London.

Currently, 30 people have been confirmed dead, and there are 70 people unaccounted for.

The top cop said: "The investigation is a police investigation".

"You can see the anger for the community, justifiably so", he said.

Construction company Rydon made the refurbishment of the block worth Rs 8.7 million pound and was completed in July 2016. While members of her party have suggested security issues contributed to her lack of engagement with the public, residents seemed unwilling to accept the explanation.

"Our focus has been on those that we know were in Grenfell Tower". Some observers asked whether hazards in the Grenfell complex, which had 120 apartments that housed as many as 600 people, were ignored because its residents are mainly poor.

There have been demands for answers as to how the blaze was able to engulf the building, trapping many on the upper floors.

Two Underground lines near the fire area were partially shut down on Saturday to make sure that debris did not land on the tracks.

Elsewhere, an angry protester attempted to rally the large crowd to march on the Prime Minister's residence on Downing Street.

"I spoke with people who ran from the fire with only the clothes they were wearing", she said in a statement. "They have been left with nothing - no bank cards, no money, no means of caring for their children or relatives".

She added: "The response of the emergency services, NHS and the community has been heroic". "People lost their lives on Tuesday".

"I do sense the anger", Conservative lawmaker Andrea Leadsom said as she faced the fury of local residents during a tour of the site.

"She wanted an entirely controlled situation in which she didn't use her humanity", former cabinet minister Michael Portillo told the BBC.

"Several hundred" people would have been in the block when the fire broke out, according to Kensington and Chelsea council.

The U.K. newspaper said that Omnis Exteriors manufactured the aluminum composite material used in the cladding. "People deserve answers, the inquiry will give them".

However, Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, who was London mayor until previous year, took to Facebook to attack opposition Labour politicians for "political game playing". The recovery operation was paused on Friday over fears for the safety of emergency workers in the building but is now set to resume.

Speaking after, Mrs May told Sky News: "What I want to talk about today is what the Government is making available to the victims of this absolutely horrendous tragedy, I think we were all when we saw the horrific scenes that had happened at Grenfell Tower..."

Police also said they have launched a criminal inquiry into the fire. The toll is expected to rise.

Six victims of the blaze have been provisionally identified.
