As the evening went on, Chelsea and Scott began dropping hints that it was getting late and that their children had to go to bed, but the fiancee says the man refused to leave.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released a statement on the issue, saying 'The individuals involved with this shooting have been identified by police.

Jacksonville-based WFOX reported that Bowman's fiancée told the two kids, ages eight and four, to run and get help.

This is when he started acting volatile and drunk, according to Bowman's fiancée. "And it's making everybody uncomfortable", Chelsea Bowman said. '(Scott) goes to use the bathroom and he waits for him. "Scott was not winning this fight at all".

Chelsea says her young daughter later told her how she witnessed the unhinged pet owner put a gun to her father's head, but Bowman managed to wrestle the firearm from his hand and shot him in the arm.

Chelsea Bowman said her daughter told her the man hold a gun to Scott's head, but he was able to turn the gun on the man and shoot him in the arm.

According to Action News Jax, the victim's daughter ran to get help while screaming, "you shot my dad!".

Chelsea Bowman and her children were also taken in for questioning.

When police arrived, the man reportedly told him that he was involved in the shooting and police reportedly detained him for questioning. They said the investigation is active and ongoing.

Shortly after, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Scott Bowman in the chest.

Chelsea Bowman said her husband was murdered - and she wants the man charged. "I have to go say goodbye [and] so does his mother, his brother, his dad, his other son".
