Jack Nicklaus says he feels bad for Tiger Woods

According to a police report released on Tuesday, Woods, wearing a white shirt and black shorts, stopped his black Mercedes-Benz auto on the right lane of the road and fell asleep at the wheel, with the car's engine running, brake lights on, and the right turn signal flashing.

Mr Woods also told police he was taking several prescription medications.

Initial reports indicated that he may have been driving drunk, but according to statements from Woods himself - as well as the police report - a hefty dosage of prescription drugs may have caused Tiger to fall asleep in his auto. In Woods' favour, he co-operated with the police - and even thanked them in his statement - and the breathalyser readings showed there was no alcohol in his system. I don't know what's going to happen [now]. "What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications", he said.

Woods recently had back surgery and said he didn't realize how much the mix of medication would affect him.

The 41-year-old former world No 1 has blamed the incident on medications.

At the time of his arrest, Woods appeared to be disoriented and did not seem to know where he was, police said in a report.

The police officer found Woods' vehicle parked on the right-hand side of the road with the motor running and the brake lights on.

Along with the DUI, Woods was also cited for improper stopping, standing, or parking in an illegal place.

Woods was briefly booked into a Palm Beach jail but released just a few hours later on his own recognizance, and without having to post bail.

Nike announced Tuesday it would continue endorsing Tiger Woods following the golfer's DUI arrest over Memorial Day weekend.

Wearing black athletic shorts and a white T-shirt, Woods told police he had returned from playing golf in Los Angeles. He is not playing on the PGA Tour this season.

'He's been great for the game of golf but he needs our help, and I wish him well'. He needs a lot of support from a lot of people. Mothers Against Drunk Driving slammed the arrest Monday, calling Woods' example "dangerous and deadly". But Woods has not won a major since 2008 and has dealt with multiple injuries and a very public divorce since.
