National Basketball Association prospect De'Aaron Fox joins chorus of anti-LaVar Ball sentiment

Lonzo Ball just published an open and emotional Father's Day letter to his dad - thanking him for everything in his life, advising him to ignore the critics and telling him that he loves him.

"In the a year ago, he became relevant for some reason", Fox said of LaVar Ball. Ball had 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Fox had 20 points in nine assists. "We put that behind us", Fox said, citing the 2011 draft experiences of Kyrie Irving and Isaiah Thomas. He has been such an overwhelming presence in the media over the last few months that you're nearly forced to take a stance on him, unless you just stay off social media altogether.

He told Sports Illustrated's Andrew Sharp that quieting LaVar was a major motivation for him heading into the game. You never forced me to do any of it.

The 19-year-old goes on to explain how LaVar has been such a positive influence in his life. "I guess when your son a lottery pick, that gives you a lot of confidence".

Fox was already set to be a lottery pick, but that tournament game likely went a long way toward boosting him into the top five or six picks of the draft.

Questions were raised about Ball's conditioning after his first workout for the Lakers, and the former UCLA star even acknowledged that the drills made him exhausted.

At that time, Irving's teammate Channing Frye said of Ball, "It's going to be disgustingly easy to hate on him". Recently, they considered a workout with Josh Jackson and De'Aaron Fox, former Kentucky floor general, in their training ground in El Segundo, California. But the Lakers seems not really impressed with Ball.

"And they weren't there when you were making sure that I always took care of business in the classroom and graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA".

Is Lonzo Ball really worth a shot for the Lakers? That's a comparison that could make many National Basketball Association teams shiver, even if Magic, who personified "Showtime" in Los Angeles, did not make it with a derogatory intent.
